fit2function
Fit 2 function was established in 2008. Sandra Stessun, BScOT(c) saw the need to help clients move better and to teach her clients to better understand movement principles.
Fit 2 function describes the nature of Sandra's practice - helping clients translate 'fitness' movement or exercise, into functional movement. If purposeful, therapeutic movement and exercise can be integrated beyond the gym or studio, into ones daily life, quality of movement will improve. With a strong, stable, and aware mind and body, moving through daily life becomes easier. An efficient, strong, balanced body is more resilient and less prone to injury.
Fit 2 function also describes Sandra's rehabilitation practice - helping clients manage acute or chronic injury or conditions. Sandra helps her clients through movement therapy, which includes teaching posture, joint alignment, joint stability, corrective muscular firing patterns and body awareness. Sandra helps her clients become fit and prepared to return to function, return to daily activities, and most importantly to return to the activities and hobbies that matter most to them.
Sandra aims to help people strengthen their body whether it is for rehabilitation, general well being and maintenance, or to reach ones athletic potential.
Fit 2 function studio is equipped with the prestigious Merrithew pilates equipment including the v2Max reformer and the stability chair. This equipment uses intricate pulley and spring systems as resistance to help build a strong stable body. The reformer, chair and tower promotes dynamic stability with every movement and exercise. The pilates springs work the muscles through concentric and eccentric contraction for optimal performance results!
